Hi, my name is Renae Woodard and this will be my third year participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS here in Georgia.

Two years ago, my husband, Glenn, was diagnosed with ALS and we created the team, Glenn’s Gang. Glenn was so proud of our team and all that we were able to accomplish – with a lot of support from others.

We lost Glenn in January of this year; however, I will still be walking in his memory. This is a cause that is so close to my heart, and I know he would be proud to see our team continuing to raise awareness and funds in his memory.

Everyone who knew Glenn was amazed by how he handled this disease with such grace and positivity. One thing that amazed me most was that he never felt sorry for himself.  He always had such a positive attitude, an upbeat personality and loved to surround himself with people he loved.

He always had a new idea about the next great adventure! Whether this was getting together for drinks, hosting a dinner party, going to a concert or traveling, he never lost his zest for life.

Glenn loved the ALS Community and Support Group events. He was always the first one to say, “let’s go to this ALS event!” This community was extremely important to him and he would want us to continue to give back to those who gave so much to him.

So, how can you help us give back and continue fighting to find a cure for ALS?
