Paul and I heard those words on February 18, 2014. He lost his battle on November 29, 2016. ALS can strike anyone, but military veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS. Paul was a Vietnam veteran.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS robbed Paul of the things that he loved. He could no longer live and work outside. He could no longer teach Sunday school. He could no longer lead mission trips to help the disadvantaged. He could no longer hold the ones he loved.
The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to support those affected by ALS. I am walking to ensure that no one ever again hears the words : "You have ALS". Please consider making a donation in memory of Paul.
