2021!! Team Travis is celebrating 15 years in partnership with the ALS Association!!! Please join us this year in memory of the loved ones lost to familial ALS and to help create a cure for the next generation! As always we truly appreciate all your love and support! GO TEAM TRAVIS
Again we walk for all of those family members lost to this disease: Dan Garnsey, David Travis, Eleanor Travis Garnsey, Chuck Travis, and Myrtle Travis. We walk for a cure to prevent any other losses.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
The above five are the only ones offically diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease but there are older genereations with evidence of the disease that can be traced all the way back to Germany with the origins of ALS.
Now Team Travis is in the hands of Dan Garnsey's daughters. Captained by Liz Garnsey Cagle and Nikki Garnsey we intend to stop ALS in its tracks.
